I'VE FALLEN AND I CAN'T GET UP

Dsc05443
J.D. after a 4:30 "Grace" effort. J.D. had 12 reps done in 49 seconds. It was those last 18 reps that kicked his ass. If J.D. would have paced his first 12 reps a bit slower, I think he would have been in the three minute range. You could say J.D. blew his WOD!

The top performers from the last two days:

5k Run:
Joe Delacruz- 21:49
Stefanie O'Brien- 25:07

"Grace":
J.D. Stewart- 4:30
Stephanie Hinderer- 7:08

Some other notable times:

  • My co-worker Jeff called me at 10pm to tell me he ran the 5k in 21:10. He says he is going to compete in our real One World Games in May.
  • Austin missed the 5k run, but he did "Grace" in 3:40. That was fast! Just so you know, he runs in the low 21 minute range.
  • Jolie did "Grace" rx'd (her and Stephanie were the only girls who completed it rx'd) in 6:22. Killer time... She won the Crossfit Games last year. Would we expect anything less?!?!
  • 15-year-old Josh aka "The Legend" aka "Skipper" Johnson is proud to announce he now weighs a whopping 147#. He did "Grace" with the prescribed 135# in 5:49. One day I will be standing in the audience at an ESPN Crossfit Games press conference while he is answering questions about how he won the Games.

A great effort by everyone so far. More hard work on the horizon for our last event:

WOD   1/31/2008

"Helen"

Complete three rounds for time of:

  • Run 400m
  • 21 kettlebell swings (M:53#/W:35#)
  • 12 pull-ups

A little video taste of Helen:
OPT (James Fitzgerald) won the Crossfit Games last year. A couple of weeks ago he shows up at the end of a Crossfit Certification Seminar and  says he can do a sub seven minute Helen. Seeing it first hand was awesome. The video is fantastic. Whenever I see this vid, I want to workout. Another great production by Crossfit media.

For those who are wondering, 1.5 pood is 55#

Man, I really dropped the ball on Grace, these times are crazy, I am going to have to do it again next week and see what happened. That is one thing good about One World, there is tons of support, but most of all, motivation.

Stephanie, Stefanie:
Awesome job, ladies!! Jolie...your always a studette (sorry if i spelled that wrong).

I love this vid. Not only is the effort amazing, Tony and his crew are kicking ass editing. The mash-up was sweet, the progression was awesome....I like.

12:50 - rx'd

Holy crap Josh -- 5:49!! Dude you are a legend. I can't believe your rx'd Helen when you weigh only twelve pounds more than the weight you were lifting. One day I will standing next to Freddy at that press conference saying: "I knew him when..."

Yesterday I coached lacrosse and had my boys do "21", and what a shock it was to most of those boys who thought they knew how to do a push-up,I told them I wanted their chest to tap the ground. Suddenly no one is trash talking. Most of the boys took more than thirty minutes to finish. Ahhh good times. Is there a coach at One World who would be willing to come out and show my boys some the proper Crossfit techniques?, air squats, thrusters, etc.. We would pay of course. Practices are Monday through Thursday 3:30 to 5:30, I could make a Saturday practice if fits your schedule better.

On to week 2 of the six week program to handstand push-ups, did 10,15,20. I am still supporting myself by hanging my feet over the smith-machine bar. Next week I will try going without.

"Grace" - 63# 10:26

12:02 RX'd for Helen. My run is just so damn slow....plus I try to keep pace with Joe D...Its nearly impossible to keep up with him

nevermind the TRAIN nick...

"Grace" 4:53
I was muscle-ing up most of the weight so if I used my leg's more I probably would of had a better time, I actually surprised myself tonight I thought I would have done worse it is allot different when you have the Boss Looking right at you and timing you lol....you don't want to let him down thanks' Freddy.
I know I have said this before but again I am so glad that the warm-up has come back again it makes all the difference at the end of the workout I feel more complete Thanks Jolie :)

Props to Chris for his first muscle up's I think he did three or four.

Fun was had by all tonight

Nick you are right Joe D is a force not to mess with My stupid nick name for him is "The Terminator" he just wont quit kind of like when you see a couple guy's fighting and one just keeps getting hit hard but just wont go down now that is scary, just hope you are not fighting for your life lol.

Take a look at the picture on the main site for 2/1/08! www.crossfit.com

Austin, don't frown, be happy! haha
