February 12th: Chris Stroud tells me he is taking his girlfriend snowboarding for Valentine's Day. It was the first time snowboarding for both of them.
February 14th: Chris Stroud breaks his clavicle snowboarding.
February 15th: Chris Stroud vows to get his girlfriend flowers and chocolate next year like a normal guy.
I was just at the Level II Certification and we were talking about dealing with people who are injured. Chris emailed me that night and asked for some suggestions for what to do while in a sling. I advised him to come into the gym and play around with some exercises. One arm rowing.... how cool! I guess he exemplifies the goal behind the t-shirt:
Way to inspire Chris!
FYI: Part III of the One World Ass Whooping Chronicles just posted on www.crossfit.com. The winner is revealed!
The Daily Article Link.... click here: The One World Ass Whooping Chronicles featured a woman competing against a man. (No....not Part One when I competed!!!) Read this fantastic article from Lisbeth Darsh of Crossfit Watertown regarding women, competition, and Crossfit. I love her point of view. I can't lie though... I kinda like the Crossfit girls that kick ass AND get their nails done.... Read the article and post your thoughts to comments. Post to Watertown's comments too! I am sure Lisbeth would love to hear what you think.
SCHEDULE ALERT!!!!!!!
Jolie and I will both be trainers in Dallas this week for the Law Enforcement Only Crossfit Level I Trainer Certification. I have most the training sessions covered, but there will be two cancellations: Tuesday @ 9am and Wednesday @ 9am. I apologize for the inconvenience.
AUSTIN'S SUNDAY SCHOOL 3/2/2008
Complete 7 rounds for time of:
- 10 box jumps (M:24"/W:18")
- 10 squat cleans (M:95#/W:65#)
Austin is going to be a father soon, and likely he will not be able to coach on Sunday mornings. Take advantage of getting fantastic coaching from a great trainer while you can!
This is one of my favorite Crossfit videos! If you aren't inspired by this video, you should just quit Crossfit now and be content that at some point in your future you will be an unhealthy, miserable, old person.

Make sure you listen to Tony B.'s coaching tips in the video. Great stuff! This video makes 60 not seem so bad! I LOVE CROSSFIT!!!!

I'll be a one-armed rower too! I just had rotator cuff surgery and am trying to figure out what I can do once the doctor gives me the green light to start exercising again--hopefully on Monday. Freddy, thanks for showing this picture. I'd appreciate more info on working out with injuries--there's no affiliate here!

I did not get to sleep till around 3:30am So I slept in, missing my workout at One World and since there is only one class today I had to do something else, I went to the track and ran 5 1/2 laps then walked another 3, My shins started to hurt from the run so I walked the rest, Because there is allot of running on my next WOD I did not want to get shin splints and have it take away from the next workout. Tomorrow is supposed to be my rest day but you guessed it I will be doing the WOD that I missed today.
I feel much better today I have decided to take in more saturated fat this week to se how it goes, I feel so much better with sat fat.

JUST ANOTHER SIDE RANT
I just read this headline "What does Ashlee's ring mean" (Ashlee Simpson), What does it mean!! Who cares what it means!! I don't give a sh@t what it means, I don't know her, I always trip out how some people are so interested in "stars" lives and so fourth, To me these aren't real people (I mean physically they are real)but what have they really contributed to help others, I have always looked up to the people in some way stand for something, Take Freddy for instance he walks the walk, the guy is truly passionate about training and fitness, Of course at first you might think he is some kind of convict with his tattooed sleeves but he is anything other then a convict, actually he is a cop a husband a father (To his dog)and a friend, I will admit I look up to him kind of like a older brother, And for the rest Jolie ,Brad, Austin I have similar feelings about even allot of the guy's that I train with when I see them pushing as hard as they can and wont stop those are the people that I admire. When I did my short stint in power lifting the owner said to me one time "It's not just what you can get from us but also what you bring to the table" That stuck in my head. Ok I will step down off my soap box now.
