REPRESENTING THE ISLANDS!

Jolie's very good friend, Kate, visited Crossfit One World from Oahu, HI. When Jolie last visited Hawaii, she introduced Kate to Crossfit Oahu. Kate drank the Koolaid in big 'ole gulps and is hooked. While she was stateside, Kate visited Crossfit One World, Crossfit North Santa Cruz, Crossfit Santa Cruz Central, Crossfit Santa Cruz, and Crossfit San Francisco. That is what I call a vacation!
Mark your calenders: One World will be closed on 5/10, 5/11, 5/17, and 5/18 for the Crossfit Level I Trainer Certification.
A quick note to all you stud and studettes! "Murph" was posted on www.crossfit.com on Friday. Several of you did "Murph" for your first time. AWESOME! "Murph" is a workout you perform with a 20# vest. As you all know, we have several weighted vests at One World. I have a simple request for all who use the vests when you workout: PLEASE HANG THE VESTS UP ON THE PULL-UP BARS AFTER YOU WORKOUT! I came in late that night and all the vests were in a pile on the floor. They were all soaking wet with sweat. Yucky!!! I hung them all up and hit them up with some disinfectant. All is good in the hood!
Sunday's "FREE WORKOUT" at 10am as provided by Joe D.
Come visit One World! No Crossfit experience necessary!
WOD 5/4/2008
"Tabata Something Else"
Complete 32 intervals of 20 seconds of work followed by ten seconds of
rest where the first 8 intervals are pull-ups, the second 8 are
push-ups, the third 8 intervals are sit-ups, and finally, the last 8
intervals are squats. There is no rest between exercises. Your score is the total reps from all 32 intervals.
The always amazing Rob Miller of Crossfit Santa Cruz Central. This is what "Tabata Something Else" looks like when professionals do it!

Freddy,
my apologies about the vests. I don't know what I was thinking. That shoulda seemed obvious, it won't happen again.
Lookin forward to the Sunday morning workout, I'm bringing my wife finally! See you all there.

Freddy,
Is the workout tomorrow at 9am or 10am? I got a couple of guys from my lacrosse team showing up to check out the gym and I told them to come at 10am.

Hi Maria,
Thanks, I just thought about it, and it wasn't rx'd with a weight vest so it wasn't as great a time. But I did to the 1.6 on the rower (which gassed me for the pullups, and the squats gassed me for the row!)
I cant wait to have the time to go road tripping around to the affiliates!!!
Cheers,
Kam

Another awesome class from Joe D. and Chong!
Jason k. nice job! Rx'd with the vest on! Your friend, Daniel, did a great job for his first WOD. He's got a lot of potential! We missed Tia, though!
Maria (nice twin) 369 rx'd
Mary (evil twin) 368
You should have heard the whining from the evil clone. She kept demanding for a recount. Ha! The Original Twin prevails!
Posted by: maria | May 04, 2008 at 05:55 PM
Since the Clone and I were not paired on this WOD, and someone else was taking score, I suggest my accountant's abacus was malfunctioning -Julianna!
Recount...recount.. recount (has the same rythem of :hate burpees, hate burpees, hate burpees)...
Where were you, BF Bear? Would have been nice to have you around to bribe my counter, Julianna, for that tie vote...

Posted by: kam | May 04, 2008 at 06:05 PM
Hey, Kam:
If you are referring to the crossfit challenge hopper challenge in Oakland, it's not until May 24th.
If I'm way off base, sorry!

My English sucks today. Sorry.

Will made it a family day today. He brought the lovely wife and his cute daughter, Gaby, who didn't fuss at all during the WOD. Lucky parents, Gaby sleeps through the night. The rest of us can remember 4 hour feedings and endless crying.....
Great to see your family there, Will. Gaby will be rx'ing the WODs by the time she's 7!

Thanks Mary,
the girls absolutely loved there time there today. I appreciate everyone being so gracious and making Audrey feel at home. She's always been the athletic type, but because she's been out of the exercising loop for over a year, she was extremely apprehensive to come today. Even while she was walking up to the front, she began saying that all she was going to do was watch. I kept telling her to just come along, and the people and place will put you at ease.
After she got in there, that's exactly what happened. She relaxed, trained hard, and had a great time. She was so pleasantly suprised, she kept thanking me for not listening to her. Thanks to everyone for helping to give her, her first sip of the kool-aid. I think we gained another fan. Although, it might be short-lived. She's giving me the ole' stink-eye right now because her legs are beginning to hurt. I gotta go and rack up some brownie points. See y'all tomorrow.
