ANNOUNCING THE FIRST "FRIDAY NIGHT SOCIAL"

Ever since the One World Fish Game Challenge posted on the dry erase board last week, the Fish Game has taken over the gym for bragging rights. You got a sub four minute Fran??? Who cares...what's your score on the Fish Game?!?!? If you haven't tried the Fish Game yet, you need to give it a shot. It's a blast and as addicting as crack.
On September 19th, you will all get to put your Fish Game skills to the test in a "mano o mano" test of fishing prowess. That is the date of our first Friday Night Social and the official date of our first ever One World Fishing Tournament.
A fishing tournament???? Here's the story: Sign-ups start at 6:30pm. There is a $10 buy in to participate in the tournament. All participants who sign up will randomly be placed in a bracket style tournament format (names drawn from a hat). Participants will go head to head against each other. Winner moves on.... loser eats some of the pot luck food and drinks beer (or whatever tasty beverages happen to make it to the event). Winner of the tournament wins the buy in pot and a talking fish plaque. This will be an open invitation tournament to all Crossfit affiliates.
Think you don't have the "experience " to participate? Think again! The current One World Fish Game Champion is Annie with a high score of 1935. Annie has only been Crossfitting for a couple weeks!
$10 dollar buy in/winner takes all.....pot luck food.....One World buys the beer....GOOD TIMES!
Mark your calendars now! Post to comments if you are interested in participating or just hanging out for the fun times.

Don't forget that the Fight Gone Bad III Fundraiser is on 9/27. Another great social event. Register for the event by clicking on the link in the upcoming events. Start hitting your friends and family up for donations. We are still a bit off from our fundraising goal of $10,000.
September is going to be a fun month!!!

Today was my first time on the lake; so I deceided to go fishing. I had so much fun fishing. But I wasn't really that good - I was only able to achieve a score of 1480.
Some days the fish are biting, and some days they are not. So I think I will go back out to the lake tomorrow to see if the fishing is better.
I am HOOKED on the fish game. See you all soon for some good fishing.

What is this? We weren't happy with the weakest, newest, unexperienced, woman crossfitter being the fish champion of all???? This is madness! What's wrong with you guys?
...... Chris? I heard your new score. Bring it!!!!!!

Joe D., I love you man!! You can wear anything and you're still the coolest!!!
Hey Fred, of course the Tassanos are in for the Friday night social. But, Annie, you have no worries girl...I definitely will not be any challenge in that fish game. I think I scored a 500? Ugghhh that sucks. But hey we're in for the fun and games anyway and to see who's crowned the king or queen fisher.

How does this Fish game work?
Posted by: Rodil San Mateo - Diablo Crossfit | August 08, 2008 at 10:13
Freddy,
I'm in and if the shit eatin' grin on Tia's face this morning was any indication, then she'll be there too. She does better than me anyway.
Rodil, press Menu/Back on you C2 and choose the fish game. Small fish are worth 30 points medium fish are worth 60 points and stay away from the large fish or you lose 45 points. It's that simple, but, be careful though, Freddy's not kidding it really is like crack!

Hey Eric
Here's your chance for beginners luck on the fish game.
I’m up for some Friday night fishing. Just don’t depend on having fish for dinner, because I play every evening, sometimes the fishes bite sometimes they don’t.
Joe D
You are such a rebel. Way to go man. You will not be mind controlled into being color coordinated. No matter what you wear you are still a killer trainer who does not allow us to stop in the middle of the workouts to take breaths. I personally think Freddy needs therapy, especially after his many wardrobe changes for the Crossfit Games. He needs to sit in someone’s chair and repeat these words “Even though wearing red shirt and yellow shorts with white socks up to one’s knee and a black hat with gray shoes is not the best choice it is ok to look a bit clownish once in a while.

Just started using the concept 2 a few weeks ago and had no idea that it had games. I saw the post last night and went to give it a try today but could not find it. I spent a good amount of time looking around for it but was unsuccessful. How do I find this game?

Derek,
We have the the D-rowers with the PM3 monitor. The Fish Game comes up as one of the options as soon as we hit Menu/back. If you have a PM 3 or 4, try "More Options" and see if you can find it that way. If not, contact Concept2. They have GREAT customer service.
