I now you all are as sad as I am. The kids have left us for a few months. Chris and Rita have been a joy to have at our gym. The two have left to Tacoma, WA for a few months to take care of Chris' brother's home while he is in Afghanistan. I really gave Rita "The Receptionist" a hard time about leaving, but I am so happy that she is venturing out and getting to see the world while she is still young. Plus, I know she is in good hands with Chris. Check out Rita's blog to keep up on their adventures while they are away. Take care kids, and we will see you soon. We all love you both!

I really hope that some of you will get together and venture to Diablo Crossfit on Saturday for a fun team workout with some other Bay Area Affiliates. It sounds like a great time. Jeremy and Craig run a great box at Diablo Crossfit, plus, they recently moved into a new bigger facility. This is a low key event with emphasis on this being "team" training for the 2009 Crossfit Games Affiliate Cup. If you are planning on representing One World you should try to make the trip. Go One World!
This from Jeremy:
"January
24th, start showing up at 10:30am and we'll start running heats at 11
or 11:30.No cost, no special registration. No trophy, just bragging
rights. Totally informal. Just WOD, fun, and beer, etc
afterward.Craig and I are cooking up something special for the whole
"team" thing. Anyone from your gyms are welcome (elite or beginner)."

Speaking of the 2009 Crossfit Games, the 2009 NorCal Regional Qualifier will be upon us sooner than we think (May 2nd and 3rd). A few things to point out about the qualifier:
- Registration will open at the end of January on the NorCal website.
- Registration fee will be $75 if before March 1; $100 thereafter.
- Open to all comers! There will be scaling allowed, but only athletes performing the workouts at prescribed weights/reps will be eligible to qualify for the Games.
- The qualifier is at the site of the 2009 CF Games, "The Ranch." The site will be used for workouts that will be highly creative, fan-friendly, and indicative of those who are best prepared to compete at the 2009 CF Games!
- Bookmark the 2009 NorCal Regional Qualifier website so you can keep track of up and coming athletes and affiliates, plus all the latest news about the event.
One last thing- We are trying to come up with ideas for the 2009 NorCal Regional Qualifier official logo. Are you creative? You can shoot me ideas on a friggin napkin, and I got the guys who can make it happen.

I'm guessing everyone's legs are wrecked, so how about this little walk in the park:
WOD 1/22/2009
Complete five rounds for time of:
- 10 pull-ups (chest to bar)
- 10 push-ups (feet on a 12" box)
- 10 Abmat sit-ups (feet unanchored)
If you cannot perform chest to bar pull-ups or fully planked push-ups with your feet elevated and your chest touching the floor every rep, then perform 10 rounds of each exercise with your substitution (i.e.- regular pull-ups, box jump pull-ups, or push-ups on your knees). Oh yeah, that would be ten rounds of sit-ups too!

awww my family :)
This makes me happy, even for me working out isnt the same without chris yelling at me or rita telling me I look like Max our dog! They'll be back soon though!
OH and thank goodness for this WOD, I'm pretty sure my legs are about to fall off!

Freddy, Tacoma is a far way from Union city. Everything here is so different. Hopefully when we get back we have something to show for it aside from really pale skin! Guess what, so far I'm not fat or prego with four kids so things are still good!
Shannon I'm proud of you and better keep going to One World. If I find out you stop going in for any reason I will hold Max for ransom!
Hey One World Family, Guess what!!?
We love you all and miss you all!

Hey Freddy, those two beauties parked in your driveway keep calling my name. Don't be suprised if there is a grey minivan parked in your driveway when you get home and I am nowhere to be found.

okay Eric, TMI...some of us have filters we want in place. I don't want mental pictures in my head of my two "kids". Okay? We know what happens but we can pretend it doesn't. Also, Eric, I think you need to get your frustrations out so that we don't see any more of your sexual angst on the comments section. I think I sense a little bit of jealousy? Hmmmmm? LOL LOL =O)
Hello "Kids", we obviously all miss you guys a lot! Have fun and keep us posted on all your adventures! (The G rated ones! lol)

I'm heading up to Diablo Saturday morning to watch the goings on and see some fellow buds. If anyone wants to join, then we can go up as a team and compete if you'd like. However I'm heading up there either way.
