Other than 3, 4, 5, 6, 9 and definitely 10, I'm on the right track. LOL! ;0)

What are push-up pass throughs? Are they supossed to be done in conjunction with the dips or can I do either or? Thanks.

Eric

Hey Grant, Push-up pass throughs are when you start with a push-up on the paralete bars and on the way up from the push up you jump through and push your feet way out in front of you like a l-sit, now with your legs planked you do a dip, once finished with the dip at the top locked out position all in one motion you lock you elbows, tuck your knees and jump back in reverse to top position of the push up.

Jason

Greg,
There's no way I'm getting too much sleep.

Jason

Greg,
I just read the article, now your post makes sense. Thanks.

Greg,

You should read "Lights Out" I assure you, there is never such a thing as too much sleep. :-)

Grant

I saw the video for this but I don't have the proper equipment. My gym only has a dip bar. How about L-sit dips as a sub? Thanks for the clarification.

Louise Smith

Freddy, you talk about proper rest. How does aging change how often and when you rest. I know this is a person by person basis, but what has worked for you?

BTW, I am a 38 year old Crossfitter (will never be a fire breather even in a Masters division) who has been doing this for almost 2 years, but the past 8 months without a coach. I was fortunate enough to have started Crossfit with Coach Austin!!

Louise, I usually need to take an extra day or two of rest after about a month to a month and a half. Other than that, I pretty much stick with my training cycle, which right now is three on/one off/two on/one off

Freddy,

I hear ya, especially working a 12.5 hr shift, then hitting a WOD. -I'm taking the month of January off and spending it on the beach in Maui. I'll be working on getting too much sleep every night. I am so counting down the days! :)

Hi,

I'm a Crossfitter from Crossfit Eastbay. Great post on training philosophy.

Manny

I miss Rita's blog.

Freddy, thanks for the info!!

Love the post.

A couple of things about hydration:
First, it IS possible to drink too much water. Typically, ecstacy drug deaths are due to this, leading to diluting the blood. Apparently, the drug specifically leads to people not recognising problems. I think "challenging" Crossfitters to drink as much as they can in the way you did could lead to a shitstorm. Look at rhabdo. Stay safe, change your hydration incrementally.

Second, can you recommend anywhere that talks about isotonics vs plain water, and hydration timing relative to workout start?
