We all see Atsushi around the gym either coaching CrossFit or Judo, or crushing some crazy CrossFit workout. A little about Atsushi:
"Atsushi started Judo training at age 7 in Chicago and has been competing for 17 years. Between the ages 10 and 16 he traveled roughly every year to stay and train at the Kodokan as well as the top police dojo in Tokyo. He has placed in numerous tournaments over the years including several overall wins and brings a wealth of experience to One World’s Judo program. Atsushi is also an avid CrossFitter and holds a level 1 trainer certification."
Atsushi is offering this to all One World members:
"Hey, Freddy!!!
I believe you did a post a while ago about the fear of falling we mysteriously develop as we enter adulthood. Many folks out there are reluctant to attempt new things, be they higher box jumps, rope climbs, handstands, and even outdoor activities outside of gym, for fear of injuring themselves if they fall. I have had the fortune of not experiencing this kind of fear because I learned how to break a fall as a child, through Judo. I can honestly say that I have never been afraid of trying and failing at new movements because I am confident that I will not severely injure myself if I take a spill, and it has done me wonders in progressing toward being able to perform new things. This is why I would like to host a free seminar at One World that will be based around protecting oneself in the event of a fall. This is not a Judo or Brazilian Jiu-jitsu seminar. It will be held on the martial arts side, but no Gi is needed. I would like to invite anyone in the gym who would like to learn how to break a fall so that in the future, they will be less fearful when it comes to trying new things, regardless of what they are. This will be an extremely simple class where I will cover breaking a fall straight backward, to both sides, and straight forward. It will be held on Saturday, February 16th from 10:30-noon. It should not be physically demanding, so BJJ guys can roll, CrossFitters can hit up the open gym, and Krav people can do their crime fighting afterwards! It would almost be like a long warm-up. Haha. Once again, this will be free to any One World members. If there is a lot of interest, I'll see about holding another one in the future.
Thanks!!"
Post to comments if you are interested in attending this seminar.

if you are not afraid when doing crossfit, you are dumb. crossfit is unsafe. everyone who does it gets injured, many requiring surgery, and even some crippled for life.

Sounds like it could be fun. I'll probably give it a try.
