It never ceases to amaze me. The athletic ability and strength of the people at One World has grown in leaps and bounds over the last six years. I remember back in 2007 when Austin Begiebing (now the owner of CrossFit Milpitas) hit a 185# snatch. All I thought was, "Holy shit.... No one at One World will ever top that!" Austin held onto that top spot for quite some time. Fast forward to 2013 and he's not even in the top seven:
On Saturday, I watched Leo hit a 100kg snatch after seven missed attempts. It was a great showing of determination when most people would have quit. A couple tweaks in his movement, and he finally nailed it. It was an 5kg PR from his 95kg lift earlier in the month. I can't even tell you how exciting it was to witness in person. Hard to believe that when Leo started at One World, he was struggling to hit a 60kg snatch. Hard work pays off!
We aren't kidding ourselves at One World. We know none of us are ever going to the Olympics for weightlifting, and no one at this time is on track to be an elite level weightlifter. BUT....we have all embraced trying to lift heavy things as best we can AND still keep ourselves in good cardivascular condition. It's a perfect mix and why we all train at One World.
Lift heavy things and everything else you do in CrossFit and life is easier. Let's keep it up!!!

WORKOUT 1/28/2013
- 5 x 3 back squat
- 5 x 3 press
Then....
Start a 10 minute running clock. Start each minute with 5 burpees and then do as many wallballs (M:20#-10'/W:14#-9') as possible in the remaining minute. Score is total wallballs in 10 minutes.
This is a variation of "PMS Karen" demonstrated by Atsushi:

Who's this Leo character? He's a total hunk!! ;)

No new schedule yet. Not sure when it's gonna happen. It's a manpower issue.

Nice job, Leo! Karen was so hard! I was hitting a mental wall towards the end but completed it with the 645 crew providing cheering support. PMS Karen......I'll make sure I have some Midol on hand LOL!
