Remember when we had those free Sunday sessions? We don't do them anymore because all of us coaches realized that we would rather be sleeping on Sunday and us owners realized that no one ever joined up...haha. CrossFit once a week probably won't do you much good. Those sessions were pretty fun though. We kept the skill level very simple and only did movements no one could possibly get hurt doing. Sorry we don't offer the free session anymore.
Currently, we get this a lot at CrossFit One World: People will email me and ask, “Can I try out a class to see if I like it?” We also get current members who ask, “Hey, I have this friend that is thinking of joining up. Can they try a class to see if they like it?”
The answer is “NO” and I'd like to explain why...
The biggest reason is pretty simple. You either want to train or you don’t. There is no, “I want to see if I like it.” The first thing you read when you click the link “How Do I Get Started?” on the left sidebar is to come in and watch a group training session. If you can’t watch a group session and say to yourself, “Hells yes! I want to do that!” then taking a free class is not going to change your mind.
Every group session is different, even over the course of the same day and doing the same workout. Each coach at One World has their own personality and their own way they like to coach a group session. Your experience today might be way different than your experience tomorrow. (It's always pretty good though!)
It’s hard for me as a coach to try and coach a group session when I have to focus on someone who has no idea what they are doing. It’s really not fair to the rest of the group. we don’t teach you everything in your intro privates, but we give you a pretty good baseline to start with.
We are lucky at One World. We are an established gym with a pretty decent sized membership. We can be a little picky about how we let people get started. The expereince is better when you kinda have a clue as to what you are doing.
Note: If you are current member, we do not currently offer a drop-in program for your friends. Please contact Brad or Freddy if you are interested in having a friend start at One World. Your friends should not be training if they are not members. Thanks!!!

WORKOUT 1/23/2013
No strength. Long conditioning today....
Complete three rounds for time of:
- 20 wall balls (M:20#-10"/W:14#-9')
- 20 sumo deadlift high pulls (M:75#/W:55#)
- 20 box jumps (M:20"/W:14")
- 20 push press (M:75#/W:55#)
- 20 calorie row
CHECK THE BOX JUMP SIZES!! Set this up with numerous bars/balls/boxes at each station. There is no rack for the push press. You can start at any movement, but you need to stay in the listed order. With ten rowers, we can easily get a large group session doing this workout all at one time.
