I told you guys it was coming! I was not kidding. It's time to run 5k!
There will be no strength session. Instead, there will be a 10 minute group warm-up, then you will all start the 5k. There will be a single stopwatch hanging on the pull-up bar closest to the back door. The stopwatch will be for everyone in the session. If it takes you longer to finish 5k than the 1 hour session time, NO PROBLEM! The clock will continue to run until the last person comes through the door.
Come in and do the run. It's only 3.1 miles. Your training has geared you up to finish 3.1 miles no problem! You just need to come in and gut it out.
Here is the 5k course:
Go out the FRONT door of the gym. Run to Alvarado-Niles Road and turn right. Run to Central Avenue (the next block) and turn right. Run two blocks to Atlantic Avenue and turn right. Follow Atlantic Avenue back to One World (Atlantic Avenue turns into Western Avenue). Continue past One World to Alvarado-Niles Road. Turn right and run to Central Avenue. Run one block to Pacific Avenue and turn right. Run to Western Avenue and turn right. Run back to the front door of the gym. Basically, you run two blocks and then you run one block. Exactly 5k. Easy.
