We take functional movements and mix them up in a variety of ways to make fun group workouts that can take anywhere from 5 minutes to 50 minutes.
We use three types of functional movement groups to make our workouts:
WEIGHTLIFTING: Weightlifting is the movement of any external load. This can include traditional loads like barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells, and medicine balls, or odd loads like prowler pushing, tire flipping, and sled dragging.
GYMNASTICS: Any bodyweight movement is a gymnastic movement. Jumping, squatting, push-ups, sit-ups, pull-ups, handstands, rings....the list goes on and on. Simply put, a gymnastic movement is the ability to manipulate one's body through space.
MONOSTRUCTURAL- Typical "cardio" movements like running, rowing, and jump roping.
Unlike many CrossFit gyms, we do not believe that workouts can be formatted randomly without any rhyme or reason. Our workouts are formatted to engage the entire body, but the template we follow addresses the needs of individual body parts in a regular pattern. Squatting, pressing and deadlifting repeat in regular intervals.
We follow a three day on, one day off program. The off day is used as a rest day, or a day that members can do a workout that they missed in the previous three day cycle, or a day to come to the gym and work on a weakness. All day off sessions have a trainer present.
The beauty of our program is that it works for everyone. All movements, lifts, and loads are scaled during every workout to fit the physical capabilities of each individual person. All movements are coached before each workout. Each workout is briefed so that everyone knows exactly what they are doing and how to do as efficiently as possible to achieve the best results. At CrossFit One World, you will not be walking around the gym wondering how to train properly.
