I didn't do any of the planning for this trip so have no idea about the permits....my only job was to carry the heavy stuff...my pack weight about 45 lbs

Nice job Lancaster! How long did you have to wait to get the permit?

Thanks for the Props Freddy!
Doug that Jackie move was done at a lower elevation during the hike =) I had no energy when I got to the top and the short nap I took made my headache worst.... a perpetual hangover... reaching the top was so anti climatic because all I wanted to do was find a nice soft rock and sleep.

I love that Crossfit gives me the confidence to do something like hike Mt. Whitney.

Nice job Lancaster! I did the Whitney hike in 2001 with a group of friends...it was a very long and challenging hike! I had never been over 11,000 ft before and once I hit 12,000 I felt like I was drunk...I definitely had some issues with the altitude and only stayed at the top around 15 minutes. I certainly didn't have the energy to go "Jackie Chan" at the top!
