My dogs are vegetarians...

Ha, ha...just kidding. They DO eat a holistic, hormone and antibiotic-free diet. I don't give them raw meat, but on occasion they will get a cooked meat treat. I would be concerned about e-coli, etc as well...ewwww...

I've been thinking about this for my boxer, Bernie, for a good while after seeing/reading how some feed their dogs fresh and raw meats and veggies. It seems to be an obvious choice as dogs are carnivores, not carbivores. I'm wondering about the cost variance of such a diet, however. I LOVE my dog, but if it costs more to feed her than myself...
Also, the raw hamburger or chicken meats..wondering about e-coli, salmonella and other bacterial poisoning that potentially come with eating raw, grocery store bought meats. My friend feeds her King Charles raw chicken, and I just don't comprehend this. Dogs aren't immune to these adverse bacterial reactions, so far as I know.
Any thought or knowledge on this is appreciated.
