Hey Chyna, they spelled your name wrong on the broadcast when they showed the leader board... they put Chyn Cho. lol... just thought I'd let you nkow.

tHE GAMES WERE EXACTLY AS YOU SAID BIG TIME! ITS ONLY GOIONG TO EVOLVE EACH YEAR. CANT WAIT TO SEE NEXT YEARS!!
100 135# BENCH PRESSES 8:21
A LOT HARDER THAN I THOUGHT!!! ALTHOUGH TODAY IS MY OFF DAY!! BUT IM JUST TRYING TO MAKE AN EXCUSE!!! NEXT WEEKS GOAL IS TO BE UNDER 5 MIN!!!!

Couldnt do the WOD as posted so did this instead:

Squat 3 x 20 : 135,135,135

100 pushups for time: 8:52

LOVED THE GAMES WRITE UP FROM THE NIGHT BEFORE ALSO.

@ JOR - I DON'T THINK YOU COULD HAVE SAID THAT ANY BETTER. THANK YOU FOR THE NICE WORDS ALSO!

My impressions on the Games.

1) First of all, kudos to Chyna for a fantastic effort. Tough WODs and she pushed through. She is young and (like that Ben Smith dude) is going to be around for quite a few more Games. Can't wait to see what she and you, Freddy, as her coach learned from this experience that she will bring next year.

2) Wonder what you and others thought about the push-up standard?? Sorry, but it looked like push-up floppies. I suspect they did it (like they do C2B on PUs) so it is easier to judge, but...it was odd...to me that is.

3) Once again amazed at the level of the competing athletes. There are firebreathers and beasts and then these athletes are in yet another level, IMHO. The other part was how you had to be a mental firebreather as well. So many instances of mental stuff (Chyna during the MUs, Jason on the last snatch squat rep, those that had that one judge dude with the cap that no repped a ton). Amazing...

4) Judges. Definitely different sets of standards. Like I said, that one dude with the cap. He was strict. Was he too strict, right, or others were lenient...not for me to say as I sat in the bleachers and it isn't fair from that vantage point to judge. Interesting, though. But as Jeff A. said, you get what you get.

5) Shade...you know you need more shade when the blimp went over giving you 5 seconds of it and everyone cheered.

6) Masters' WODs. As I wrote on the 40+ blog. Kind of disappointed, but let's see what next year brings. After all, they did Fran of a sort at the first games, right?

7) The programming was genius in many ways. Reiterated the beauty of couplets and triplets. Surprsingly, the first WOD really separated men from boys, women from girls. The last WOD left your jaw open and just got everyone on their feet yelling with support and encouragement. When you have firebreathers taking minutes of rest in a WOD...that is one kick ass WOD. Also shows, you need to learn how to do a rope climb or anything that may come from the hopper.

8) Finally it has to be only CrossFit where you can go alone and yet everywhere you sat it was easy to meet people and become friends. Also, watching the competitors encouraging their competitors...class acts.

Hey Freddy,

I am a fellow LE and spent some time in the military. I am 43 and have been using crossfit since 2000 (blue board). Probably the second , maybe 3rd LE to ever call Coach about crossfit. I watched the games and loved the games. Programming was outstanding. Perhaps we can agree to disagree on programming for the small guy. 135lb crushed the big guys on the snatch/muscle up wod. Speal 140ish/Holmberg not sure/Froning 185ish in BW. Khalipa, Mikko, Chen much bigger and stronger and should have had a better chance considering the weight used in some events. Anyway, I tend to think about everything I have competed in for 30+ years and I sum it up like this. Unknown/Unknowable, I don't know who I will fight, how many, where, when, or if I will have backup, how long it will last, or if it is h2h, knives, guns, etc. I agree the judges were different and graded different and it's been that way every academy/training/Ranger Bat/SF training team that I have been involved in. The quote I love most from and old SF SGT. You get what you get, deal with it and move on. Love your site and have used it for some time.

Hafa Adai Ted - You weren't actually expecting Freddy to know what finadene is, were you?!

Anna, I liked it.. the key is to stop before you start to struggle.. if you do that, you can knock it out quickly w/much shorter rest breaks..

Kinda looking forward to this WOD...don't know why...

14:35rx BW 148# (and only dropped the bar on my chest 4 times haha)

Hafa Freddy, where the finidini? J/k. Nice meal, easy to make. Also, good Games review

Amazing how people bitch about not enough time to eat right, work out, etc..most of the time they go out of their way not to ear right, work out, etc.

Great write up on the games from the previous night!!

I drink beers for dinner. My prep time is even faster. I can open a beer in about 1.24 seconds and pound it in less than 10 secs. When I feel like I need to reward myself, I drink a Jack and Coke instead.

I tried to reward myself after I finished my first 30 day Paleo challenge w/a Hershey's bar and all I got was a headache :(

Preparing paleo has been so effortless for me. Cooking my meat takes 6-8 minutes tops and if I've got my veggies already chopped, stir frying them takes about 5-8 minutes, ziplock some nuts/seeds and a tiny bit of fruit and I'm ready to go. Sometimes cleaning up the kitchen/dishes takes longer than my actual cooking.

"Mike".......ur such a hater.....LOL!!!!

I'm sure your brother and sister in law are going to love having you now. What's next, a picture of a dirty bathroom? Laundry on the floor?? What jerk!!!

The bottom picture is exactly how Tia and I used to eat. Yuck!

Throw the asparagus on the grill next time - even better
