Lol, all I saw were German Shepherds (okay, and Belgian Malinoisssss, and forgot what we were talking about. :D

Sports movies?
Miracle
Slap Shot - awesome!
Seabiscuit
+2 for Shaolin Soccer (and most other martial arts movies - Kung Fu Hustle, anyone?!)
YESSSSS!! Talledega Nights (7# 6oz pink baby Jesus)
Lucas (c'mon, Corey Haim was adorable as a kid... RIP)
Secretariat

ChukdeIndia! this Bollywood movie is about India's national game--the field hockey. Mr. Ram, Lagaan, the other Bollywood movie mentioned here, is more of a drama type movie and reminds me of the preindependence/slavery era. Cricket is the game of the slaves whereas hockey is the game of the freedom figthers. LOL. Freedy this is your best post. I enjoyed watching the folloowing movies:
swimming up stream, (swimming Australia)
searching for Bobby fischer,(chess USA)
the world's fastrest Indian, (motorcycle, New Zealand)
the bottle shock,(Napa Valley, USA)
rufian, (horse racing, USA)
Pour toujours...Les Canadiens (Montreal Canadiens, Canada)
just to name a few.

sandlot... i love how those kids remind us to just have fun...

"you're killin' me, smalls!!!"

You have to add Kill Bill and Pulp Fiction!

As the weightlifting from Wednesday night, we lifted some big weights!

Coach Austin from Milpitas joined and hit a 120kg C&J and a 90kg snatch! Awesome work!

Coach Alex hit 120kg C&J as well and an 85kg Snatch. He's knocking on the PR door and I see a 100kg snatch in the near future.

Anna joined us and got a C&J at 113 lbs with an improvement in her jerk.

Coach Jason was lifting some serious weight with a 95kg C&J and a 60kg Snatch.

Chyna was clearly down for some PR time with a 77kg C&J and a 62kg Snatch. Her C&J was 3kgs over her last PR!

I am thinking of doing another weeknight lifting session on Thursday, June 23. Stay tuned for confirmation!

Good job lifters!

The Wrestler - Does pro wrestling count as a sport?

For those inclined towards foreign movies - Lagaan, a 2001 Indian movie about cricket!

Ohh, and +1 for Shaolin Soccer!!

@ JR - CINDERELLA MAN, SPACE JAM, AND GLADIATOR ... WOW! CAN'T BELIEVE WE FORGOT THOSE TOO. NICE! <3

@ JESS - NO PROB GIRL! =)

Hoosiers, Chariots of Fire, North Dallas Forty, Rocky I, Karate Kid (the original with Ralph Macchio). Those are my faves.

Favorite sports documentary: Hoop Dreams, and the YouTube video of Roger Bannister narrating the footage of himself running the first sub-four minute mile. Seriously, do yourself a favor and check that one out sometime.

How about another category for "classic movie that is almost a sports movie." Examples, Ben Hur, On the Waterfront.

Kind of old school, but what about Brian's Song? And The Pride of the Yankees that was about Lou Gehrig that has that great speech at the end. Hmmm..both of those movies have someone dying...that's not so cool but that is a different kind of tear jerker...

How about the Nadia movie about Nadia Comaneci, the Romanian gymnast who got the first ever perfect 10 & won the 1976 olympics with blood pouring out of her arm? Man! That movie had me doing gymnastics for years!!

Does The Waterboy & Happy Gilmore count? lol

Fooseball is the devil!!!!

Maria! Wing Chun and Muy Thai? You're my hero!!!

Don't forget, The Little Giants, Tin Cup, Space Jam, Friday night lights, Cinderella Man, And GLADIATOR!

I'm a huge fan of "Miracle." The hockey scenes are awesome and you gotta love the story. My other fave is "Cool Runnings." In fact, when I was in Calgary, I had to re-watch the movie before visiting the Olympic Village. OF COURSE I took a photo of the Jamaican bobsled. DUH!

Can't forget Bad News Bears

Thanks Chyna;)
I really do LOVe ur programing!! I feel great after!!

Also my FAV right now is The Fighter;)

RUDY, RUDY, RUDY!!!!!

Pretty sure "Rad" should be included! And maybe "Shaolin Soccer" too.

Freddy, c'mon man! You're sneaking some garbage in there with the classics! Rocky I and Rudy are clearly classics but the Blindside? That movie is the celebrity equivalent of Sally Struthers!
Here's a short list in no particular order:
Rocky I
Rudy
Hoosiers
The Natural
Any Given Sunday
Brian's Song
Caddy Shack
Chariots of Fire
Slap Shot
Talledega Nights
Semi Pro
Blades Of Glory

Great movies Eric, but it is a sports movie post. I guess I didn't make that clear =)
