Let's all admit the truth. You don't pay all that money to go to the CrossFit Games and watch the workouts. Wow, amazing CrossFitters crushing a CrossFit workout. Nothing new about that. The real reason you go to the CrossFit Games is to walk around the vendors area and grab all the free shit you can get your hands on. Truth!!!
In 2010, I was coaching Chyna as she competed in the CrossFit Games. In the athlete area, they were giving away these:
No one seemed very interested in them, so I grabbed a few pair. Of all the free shit I've score in 6 years of being at the CrossFit Games, these things are one of the few things I've actually kept in my gym bag. I feel bad because they are so old the name has worn off, and I can't even give credit to the original product. FOr the sake of this post, let's just call them "grips."
I take pretty good care of my hands, but sometimes, my palms just hurt doing certain pull movements. Deadlifts in particular tend to wear on my palms. These little pads fit into your hand and cushion you from the bar.I use my grips when I deadlift, strict pull-up, toes to bar, and knees to elbow.
Over the last three years, my grips have really worn out and are starting to tear. I can't recall the original vendor, and I've never seen them at a CrossFit event since. I realized that these things are simply a cut up yoga mat.
I took one of our old yoga mats and cut a bunch of extra grips. I placed them by the stereo system.
Feel free to use them (just put them back when you are done). Play around with them and figure out what you like to use them for. I think both of today's strength and conditioning workouts are a good opportunity to give the grips a try.
Let me know what you think. I am going to cut a bunch more and keep them in a bucket on the training floor.
One World....always looking out for you!

Yeah the ones I use are from http://www.newgrip.com/powerpad.html they are a little thicker than the ones Freddy was using, but I've been using these for a couple years now. If you dig around the site you can find the ones without the wrist strap that just seems unnecessary.

I tried them out this morning. I thought they were cool for pull ups but for deadlifts I couldn't feel the bar enough. Problem with using them for pull ups is that once I tried them without using them it really hurt and didn't feel comfortable.
Btw, Brian Learn had a pair of those when he used to work out with us. Maybe he knows where he got them?
